Today, December 7, 2007, the Belgian newspaper De Tijd published an article on its front-page claiming that “management is peddling the company”. Jo Cornu, CEO of Agfa-Gevaert, wishes to formally state that the content of this article is complete nonsense. In the given circumstances it is only normal that a number of parties are showing interest in the whole company or parts of the company. It is the responsibility of the Board of Directors to take the necessary decisions if that interest would lead to a formal offer. The management’s first priority is on improving the operational performance of the company.
