Processing Chemistries

Image Processing Software

Agfa films offer the very best sensitometric and image-quality characteristics when processed with Agfa chemicals.

The G138i and G139 developers and the G334i and G338 fixers are high-quality chemicals for high-end automatic processors used either in conventional radiology or with laser imaging films. G138i is a three-part developer with outstanding sensitometric and physical properties. G139 performs well in all large 90-second to 2-minute processors at temperatures ranging from 32° C to 35° C. G334i, our two-part fixer, is remarkable for its absence of process-specific odors, while G338 is a universal fixer, suitable for all uses where low-odor is a requirement but on-line fixer recycling is not.

All our developers and fixers are supplied in shipping cartons of 60% recycled cardboard, with two handles for easy tilting and transport. The components are packed in translucent, recyclable polyethylene (PE) bottles fitted with PE ECO seals. The screw cap and stripe at the top of the label are color-coded (blue for fixer, red for developer).

The Chemix mixer is a fully independent piece of equipment for mixing X-ray chemicals. All its actions are microprocessor-controlled. The bottles of chemicals are simply placed on top of the machine. Everything works completely automatically, with no unnecessary waste of time.

The E.O.S. FIX is a fixer recycling and silver recovery unit and is part of Agfa's "Ecologically Optimized System". It can be connected to existing processors, while keeping options open for high-throughput processing and ecological profitability. The E.O.S. FIX reduces silver concentration in the wash water to less than 50 mg silver/square meter of processed film, which complies with the current freight standards on silver concentration. In addition, the E.O.S. FIX reduces fixer consumption by approximately 35%, to 400 milliliters/square meter or even less.

Naturally, image quality and consistency, as well as compliance with local regulations and quality assurance requirements can only be guaranteed when our systems are operated with Agfa chemicals.
