The Tauro printers with Anuvia inks from Agfa have passed the 3M Performance Guarantee program

Tauro wide-format hybrid inkjet printers and Anuvia inks obtain 3M Performance Guarantee

Mortsel, Belgium, 19 October 2023 – Today, Agfa announced that 3M has acknowledged the exceptional quality of the Tauro wide-format printer series and Anuvia 1551 ink and granted them the 3M Performance Guarantee.

In combination with a variety of 3M media, the Tauro printer series and the Anuvia ink set (CMYK + light colors and white) were subjected to a series of rigorous mechanical and physical tests carried out under 3M’s stringent assessment conditions to qualify for the Performance Guarantee.

The 3M Performance Guarantee provides assurance that 3M media will meet the highest quality standards with the tested inks. It ensures reliable performance throughout the digital printing process and during the warranted period after application. The program covers various aspects, including physical defects, manufacturing defects, printing and cutting defects due to media, stated warranty period, fitness for use, adhesive to specified substrates, and removal for removable/changeable film.

Dieter Jancart, Segment Mgr. High End Systems for Agfa, comments: “At Agfa, we’re committed to partnering with print service providers to help them achieve sustainable growth. Our best-in-class Tauro printers provide a modular printer platform with advanced automation options. With the 3M Performance Guarantee, we are even better equipped to give our customers peace of mind and empower them to meet the highest quality standards and achieve boundless creativity. It lets them take full advantage of the Tauro and Anuvia performance across a full spectrum of graphics, including banners, front- and back-lit graphics, self-adhesive vinyl, rigid plastics, cardboard, and more…”

About the Tauro printers

The award-winning Tauro printers are Agfa’s fastest hybrid multi-pass inkjet printers. Offering 24/7 productivity and award-winning quality on a wide range of rigid and flexible materials, they are a great option for larger print service providers. The Tauro H2500 prints at a width up to 100 inch (2.5 m), whereas the Tauro H3300 tackles substrates up to 130 inches (3.3 m) and offers multiple automation options.

Agfa will showcase the Tauro H3300 UHS at the PRINTING United Expo (Atlanta, GA, 18-20 October) with a focus on its capability to print corrugated cardboard in one pass at a speed of up to 9741 ft²/h, making it particularly appealing for packaging needs; the new HDR screens built into the Asanti workflow software, which enhance color gamut and density without compromising speed; and the Pinnacle Product Award-winning Flex Roll-to-Roll system that boosts printer uptime by enabling seamless transitioning from rolls to boards or sheets without undocking.

About the Agfa inks

Just like other Agfa inks, the Anuvia inks boast a large color gamut and sharp, vibrant images on a wide range of flexible and rigid, coated and uncoated media, with spot-on jetting behavior. In addition, Agfa’s patented ‘Thin Ink Layer’ technology results in low ink consumption, saving print service providers money while delivering eye-catching prints. Finally, the Agfa inks carry multiple certifications and comply with a range of industry norms that pertain to a.o. chemical emissions and air quality, including GREENGUARD Gold and IKEA standards.
