#CountOnUs: UK printers help fight COVID-19

We already posted stories before about Brazilian and Mexican print service providers making contributions in the fight against COVID-19. In the UK too, our customers are pitching in with the production of floor graphics, visors and cutting patterns for hospital scrubs.

Large-format specialist SMP from London are producing COVID-19 signage including these floor graphics for use by supermarkets.

Luke Drogan, Business Development Manager at Super-Wide Digital ( Lancashire), posted this message on LinkedIn on April 19th:
This last week has been a grueling week of work, operating on a very small team, we have witnessed the incredible capabilities and flexibility of our Agfa Tauro H3300. We have printed (and cut) 1000s visor shields, produced hundreds of important directional signs for clients supporting the NHS, delivered 1000s of social distancing & key worker Correx panels, and in less than 24 hours of print time, we have printed over 3000 linear metres of Drytac vinyl for another important campaign. What a great piece of kit, Agfa Offset & Inkjet Solutions.

Recently there was a desperate shortage of hospital scrubs in the Countess of Chester and other Ellesmere Port hospitals. The clothing, of which an example is shown below, is essential for protecting healthcare workers. A local NHS representative asked Prinovis if they were able to print out cutting patterns for hospital scrubs. The Liverpool-based printer was happy to oblige and turned this around incredibly quickly. The scrubs were then sewn together locally.
