#CountOnUs: Keeping up the spirit

The graphic arts industry is often considered the canary in a coal mine for the overall economy. The saying originates from the times when miners used to carry caged canaries while at work; if there was any methane or carbon monoxide in the mine, the canary would die before the levels of the gas reached those hazardous to humans. The bird gave an advanced warning of some danger. In a similar vein, our industry is one of the first to suffer from an economic downturn but fortunately also one of the first to recover once things start looking up again.

Obviously, the current Covid-19 pandemic has a significant impact on the printing industry. All is not doom and gloom, however, and it is refreshing to see positive messages like the LinkedIn posts below.
