Holzer Druck und Medien – “As we need to dispose of substantially less waste with the Arkana, we clearly save money”

Commercial printer Holzer Druck und Medien invested in an Avalon platesetter with an Arkana smart processor and Energy Elite Eco printing plates. The combination lowers their costs, while saving the environment and increasing their productivity.

South-German Holzer Druck und Medien is a commercial printing company with both conventional offset and digital printing activities. In addition to a wide range of typical printing jobs such as leaflets and magazines, the company is also specialized in high-quality facsimile prints.

After a visit to drupa 2016, Holzer Druck decided to invest in a CtP solution from Agfa, comprising an Avalon platesetter, an Arkana smart processor and Energy Elite Eco printing plates.

As Holzer Druck attaches great value to doing business in an environment-friendly way, the Agfa solution proves to be a perfect fit. The company saves costs by using a lot less water, gum and developer in the platemaking process, while it also spends a lot less time on processor and platesetter maintenance. In addition, the platemaking speed of the Avalon platesetter (up to 70 plates per hour) allowed Holzer Druck to increase the productivity of its prepress department drastically.

Klaus Huber, Managing Director Holzer Druck und Medien
The ecological advantages of Arkana and Energy Elite Eco are in perfect harmony with our environmental targets.
Klaus Huber
Managing Director
With our previous (non-Agfa) processor, we needed to change developer once to twice a month. Now we only do it every four months. As we need to dispose of substantially less waste with the Arkana, we clearly save money.
