Mortsel, Belgium – February 3, 2025 – 12.45 PM CET – non-regulated information
Agfa today announced that it has reached an agreement with its social partners in Belgium on its plan to adjust the cost base of its traditional film activities to the reality in the market. With this plan, the company will thoroughly reorganize all aspects of the film-related activities, with the goal of achieving savings of 50 million euro by the end of 2027.
On November 14, 2024, the intention to reorganize the film-related business was presented to the social partners in Belgium at an Extraordinary Works Council meeting. January 31, the information and consultation discussions were concluded and a social plan was agreed upon with the social partners. The plan will impact 470 employees in Belgium. Blue-collar employees, white-collar employees as well as management positions will be affected. The plan’s implementation will run over a three year period. Forced redundancies are being avoided as much as possible by using the natural outflow of staff (pre-retirement schemes and the unemployment with company supplement system (SWT)), by encouraging job mutations, and by a voluntary leave program.
“I am very pleased that we were able to find a negotiated agreement with our social partners. I thank all those involved for their constructive attitude and their willingness to avoid social conflict. This plan is a major milestone in the transformation of the Agfa-Gevaert Group. Not only will it allow us to adjust our cost base to the reality in the traditional film markets, it will also allow us to increase the focus on the further development of our various growth engines and on securing the future of our activities in Belgium and abroad,” said Pascal Juéry, CEO of the Agfa-Gevaert Group.
