Before
discussing the characteristics soundness and completeness, it is necessary to
say a word about the graph syntax of RDF. Recall that a RDF triple is
composed of a subject, a predicate and an object.

In the graph
syntax a predicate is the label of an arc, subject and object form the labels
of nodes of the graph. One node can represent at the same time a subject of
one triple and an object of a different triple.

The second graph
in the slide represents the transitive closure for the predicate ‘taller’. It
is only illustrative here.
