CardioNow provides imaging core labs and medical device and drug companies with an online, streamlined solution for handling the sharing, tracking, archiving and analysis of medical images for multi-center clinical trials with imaging endpoints.
While many vendors provide web-based solutions for streamlining and improving basic electronic data capture (EDC) and data management for clinical trails, CardioNow is the first application to address the management and electronic distribution of complex cardiac and peripheral vascular images (which are commonly 250MB in size) for these pivotal studies. By enabling investigator sites, imaging core labs, and trial sponsors to quickly and easily electronically share, track and analyze these studies via the CardioNow Network, the traditional bottleneck that is experienced with manually locating, mailing, tracking, and analyzing studies is eliminated.
University of Florida Shands, Cardiovascular Imaging Core Laboratories
"Our Core lab has been using Agfa HealthCare's CardioNow solution for clinical trial image management for the past 4 years. During this period we evaluated more than 8,000 angiograms from multiple U.S. and international centers. The studies are stored on a dedicated server and are instantly accessible with a mouse-click from the computer desktop. We are able to receive, track, analyze and archive DICOM studies much more quickly than we could when the studies were stored on CD. CardioNow enables us to electronically receive imaging data and complete our assessment within a matter of hours of the initial patient enrollment, replacing the traditional mail-based and manual tracking system which often took weeks or months. As a result, we are able to provide more timely feedback and reports to the study sponsors and clinical sites. This ultimately reduces product development times and expedites speed to market for new cardiovascular devices and drugs. As it has already happened in our core lab, I trust that the CardioNow system will become the standard for imaging data management for clinical trials."
