CardioNow provides leading imaging core labs and medical device and drug companies with an online, streamlined solution for handling the sharing, tracking, archiving, and analysis of medical images for multi-center clinical trials with imaging endpoints.

With Agfa HealthCare's CardioNow, investigator sites can quickly and easily electronically submit complete DICOM studies directly from their site to Core Labs, Trial Sponsors, and Reviewers anywhere in the world. By enabling investigator sites to electronically submit studies to the Core Lab, the traditional bottleneck that is experienced with manually locating, mailing, tracking, and analyzing studies is eliminated. Additionally, CardioNow automatically removes Protected Health Information (PHI) from DICOM files and fully automates the film tracking process, simplifying workflow for Clinical Research Coordinators.

"Digital angiograms used for quantitative analysis in clinical trials are some of the most critical outcome information we have about the value of new cardiac devices and drugs for treating coronary disease. The CardioNow service provides us several advantages in this arena. Procedures can be sent directly from the clinical site to us in the Angiographic Core Laboratory, saving transport time through the mail system. We can upload and store the angiogram on Agfa HealthCare's CardioNow Data Center, recall any procedure whenever needed, and, most importantly, make them available to industry sponsors, clinical investigators, and coordinating centers, such as clinical events committees. Having rapid access to trial procedures greatly enhances our ability to perform the clinical trial and train physicians who will be using the new technologies."
