• The range of ‘building blocks’ for the projects includes tools for data management and sharing across the regional hospital. • Other innovations cover the patient care continuum, from hospital to home. • With 450 collaborators in France, and supported by its global expertise, Agfa HealthCare has the know-how to support the IT needs of regional hospital associations in France.

Agfa HealthCare announces today that it will demonstrate how its comprehensive solution portfolio and global expertise can support healthcare enterprises in France to build regional hospital associations (Groupement Hospitalier de Territoire/ GHT), at the HIT 2016 tradeshow, from 24 to 26 May in Paris, France.

A toolbox for many situations

The French Health Ministry has decreed that the current existing hospital communities in France be replaced by regional GHTs, in order to develop mutual strategies for patient care based on a joint medical project, and to share the management of certain functions, including information systems. Each GHT must have an integrated hospital information system (HIS) operational by 31 December 2020.

With 450 collaborators in France, and supported by its global expertise, Agfa HealthCare has the know-how and the products to develop solutions that help answer the unique IT needs of each GHT. At HIT 2016, Agfa HealthCare collaborators will be on hand to discuss the comprehensive product portfolio and how it can be used to meet specific situations.

Optimizing administrative management: Among the solutions being showcased are a patient ID system for identity monitoring and aligning patient IDs across multiple hospital sites, a solution for billing and a business intelligence solution for analyzing and optimizing the healthcare enterprise’s activities.

Greater collaboration with information sharing across the enterprise and beyond: Other solutions being highlighted enable the sharing of documents, images and lab results, including Agfa HealthCare’s enterprise content management (ECM) solution, Enterprise Imaging and laboratory information system (LIS)*.

Integrated care across the region: Agfa HealthCare will also share its innovative integrated care solutions for creating a mobile, longitudinal electronic patient record and a personalized patient healthcare path from hospital to home. These include Agfa HealthCare’s Portal, HIS, solutions for ambulatory care and systems for coordinating all players in the patient care continuum.

“Projects like the deployment of our ORBIS** solution across all 39 Assistance Publique - Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) hospitals show that we have the capability to develop and manage large-scale, multi-site projects like those needed for the GHTs,” says Ingrid Merckx, SSU Manager of Agfa HealthCare France & Belux.

“In the hospitals using our IT solutions, our users are already indicating their satisfaction with the ‘anywhere, anytime’ access to the patient file, the enhanced patient management and the increased collaboration between colleagues” states Aissa Khelifa, Head of Sales and Marketing, Agfa HealthCare France.

AP-HP admits more than one million hospitalized patients per year, along with five million outpatients and one million emergency visits. It has a capacity of close to 21,000 beds in the Paris – Ile de France region and an additional three facilities outside that region. With the Agfa HealthCare project, all AP-HP hospitals will share an integrated electronic patient record, and ORBIS modules will cover the needs of the sites for clinical information management, medication management, scheduling, nursing care, medical imaging, surgery, emergency care and more.
