Italian clinic takes DR head-on, with top-of-the-line Agfa HealthCare DR system plus upgrade of existing CR to DR with Retrofit

Agfa HealthCare announces that it has been partnering the Istituto Clinico Prof. Dr. R. De Blasi, in Reggio Calabria, to Fast Forward to direct radiography (DR) by implementing a new, top-of-the-line DX-D 800 and a DX-D 30C Retrofit. Adding these DR solutions will support the clinic to speed up patient service, both decreasing costs and increasing patient throughput.

DR offers shorter waits, less stress for patients
Istituto Clinico Prof. Dr. R. De Blasi is located in the center of Reggio Calabria, in southern Italy. Spread out over four flours and 2800 m2, it is one of the area’s largest outpatient clinics accredited by the Italian National Health System. Each day, it handles some 600 patients across its various departments, which include diagnostic imaging, a health center and a clinical laboratory.

This private clinic, a referral center for the Calabria region, is very popular in southern Italy. In order to both enhance service to existing patients and attract new patients, the clinic decided to go DR, and chose long-time partner Agfa HealthCare to accompany it. In 2013, the clinic added the DX-D 800, and in 2014 it upgraded an existing computed radiography (CR) system to DR with the DX-D 30C Retrofit.
