Agfa Business Consultants use a standard methodology called DMAIC. This industry-wide standard is a structured consultancy methodology that allows a data-driven problem-solving approach. It allows one common set of indicators to be used for management improvement projects and offers a set of tools for quantifiable and repeatable analyses.

DMAIC stands for Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve and Control:

  • Define: to identify an opportunity for process improvement, or select a problem to be resolved
  • Measure: to establish measurements to highlight the performance of key business areas
  • Analyze: to identify opportunities that provide the greatest benefits
  • Improve:
    > To ensure process changes are defined in enough detail to ensure successful implementation
    > To organize the company for successful implementation of process changes
    > To make the changes to the process and organization
  • Control: to maintain benefits

DMAIC has five main themes:
