Ink - printhead interaction

Ink - printhead interaction is decisive for optimal inkjet system integration. The ink - printhead - waveform combination determines the jetting performance and reliability in aspects such as drop and tail formation (if not OK, resulting in satellites), drop volume and drop volume accuracy, drop speed and drop speed accuracy, ink mist, cross talk between nozzles, nozzle failures and latency.

We have a lot of experience in optimizing the jetting process by making ink and printhead work perfectly together, e.g. by waveform optimization and by adjusting the pysical properties of the inkjet ink.

Next to optimizing ink - printhead interactions through waveform/driving conditions, the possible chemical interaction between printhead and ink should not be disregarded, because it could strongly effect printhead lifetime. We are able to verify chemical compatibility of inks with printhead building blocks, e.g. glues, ink manifold/chamber/channels, nozzle plate, coatings.
