The electronic intervention request addressed to general service departments - not including Radiology and Laboratory, since these two have specific workflow- offers many advantages. The request can be standardized and can simultaneously incorporate additional relevant information, which considerably reduces time spent on collecting it manually via several iterations. The status of each intervention is transparent and 24/7 available and up-to-date, paperless and phone-less.

Internal interventions and procedures are automatically generated whenever an exam or activity took place. If needed, a report can be established with each examination for which text templates and dictation functionality are offered. Reports are incorporated in the workflow for validation by single or multiple signature after which they are included in the tasks list of concerned departments and services.
The overall steering of all ORBIS workflow reduces the effort put into coordinating all activities and the number of errors related to that. It also provides transparency in the status of interventions.
