Agfa HealthCare to Install RIS/PACS/Speech Solution at Major Outpatient Imaging Group in California

Open System Imaging continues to grow-with an Agfa platform as one of its most important technological resources

Agfa HealthCare announced that Open System Imaging (OSI), a multi-site outpatient group in California, has selected a complete solution from Agfa for all the Radiology Information System (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communications System (PACS) needs of its seven imaging and ambulatory care facility needs. The RIS/PACS and speech recognition reporting solution is part of a deal with Agfa worth more than a half million dollars, expected to provide significant savings in both time and expenses for Open System Imaging.

The RIS/PACS/Speech solution will enable Open System Imaging to integrate a single image-enabled radiology IT process that significantly improves the processing, archiving and reviewing of all procedures performed at their state-wide facilities, which currently account for about 40,000 exams annually.

"With seven facilities and more coming online in the near future, OSI will recognize many benefits of an integrated Agfa RIS/PACS/Speech solution, including a significant reduction in the amount of paper and phone calls that previously passed among all offices and medical personnel, and a single login."

Open System Imaging was founded in 1995 and currently has offices in Palm Desert (which serves as its corporate headquarters), Chico, El Centro, Pasadena, Redding, Roseville and Tustin. Some locations welcome self-referred patients who wish to screen for early disease detection, and all locations welcome physician-referred patients.
