Patient Safety is always on everyone's mind - but what does it mean for the digital radiology department? And what are the parameters that need to be considered?

Dr Meg Richman, Vice Chairman of Education and Director of Thornten Radiology at the University of California San Diego Medical Center (UCSD), will give a live 30 minute presentation about patient safety in radiology and her experiences and findings at UCSD.

Here are the points that she will cover:

The dimensions of patient safety in Radiology

  • How Information Technology and tight integration of PACS and RIS reduces medical error
  • How rapid access to data and image saves lives
  • How comparisons Studies save lives
  • How MPR saves lives
  • Why the steps from ordering to results influence patient safety
  • How can patients fall through the cracks?
  • What does an integrated workflow have to do with patient safety?

The presentation will be followed by a live Q&A opportunity

As always, RadioTalk will be held as live events at two different times in one day - in order to allow various time zones to benefit and to provide a dynamic real-time Questions & Answers period.
