Agfa HealthCare has recently launched a new service for customers: E-learning - Especially when faced with training large groups of people during (or after) the rollout of a PACS or RIS system, this new way of transferring critical knowledge about these systems has proven to be a successful complement to our classroom training sessions. As a first offering, we have decided to focus on Agfa's IMPAX and Agfa's Scheduling solution (Iplan) as first e-learning packages. In the future, the majority of Agfa's IT solutions will be complemented an optional e-learning component. Access to these e-learning packages is easy: E-learning is offered online, either by logging in to Agfa's secure servers or by arranging the e-learning to run on the Hospital own networks or possibly learning systems.

Benefits for the Hospital

  • The e-learning course still complement the classroom course given as part of the project implementation
  • the e-learning course remains an interactive online reference tool for future use
  • new staff can train themselves hassle free at their own pace and when it suits them
  • Agfa HealthCare can host the course(s) on Agfa servers and provide a full service (24/7 support, regular status reporting,...) hence not increasing the investment in IT infrastructure for the hospital or adding stress to the Hospital IT department. Alternatively, the e-learning course can be distributed via the Hospital own IT systems.
  • maximize training investment - as the e-learning course can be taken in bits and pieces over time, there is no need to reserve a day or half day for specific application training

Benefits for the Learner

  • Gain step-by-step knowledge and confidence on the Agfa solution's interface, functionality and features
  • Students can learn at their own time and their own pace, thus maximizing retention and efficiency
  • As the training happens at the student's own PC, she can immediately put the learning into practice (either through interactive exercises in the e-learning or directly on the application)
  • The e-learning course remains available for future reference which is useful for e.g. seldom used functionalities
  • An optional post-test is available to test the knowledge of the learner
