Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) selects Agfa HealthCare for one of Europe’s largest Health Information Systems projects

Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, announces today that it has won a contract to install its ORBIS™ solution at 37 hospitals France, belonging to the Assistance Publique – Hôpitaux de Paris (AP-HP) group. The project, worth 95 million Euros, is regarded as one of the most ambitious deployments of a healthcare IT solution in Europe, as AP-HP admits more than one million hospitalized patients per year along with five million outpatients, and has a capacity of around 23,000 beds in the Ile de France region and an additional three facilities outside that region. To bring this project to a successful conclusion, Agfa HealthCare will manage a consortium of three other companies: Cap Gemini, HP and Oracle.

Dr. Volker Wetekam joins Agfa HealthCare as Executive Vice President for IT

Agfa HealthCare, a leading provider of IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions, announces today that it has hired Dr. Volker Wetekam as its new Executive Vice President for its global HealthCare IT division. Dr. Wetekam will head up an operation of around 3.000 staff members and report directly to Christian Reinaudo, President of Agfa HealthCare. He will take up his new position on September 15th, 2008.
