:SherpaDot
:SherpaDot is Agfa's solution for dot for dot proofing, which allows for a representation of the halftone screen on the :Sherpa and :SherpaProof inkjet proofing solutions.
Raster Proofing with :SherpaDot
:SherpaDot allows for the exact representation of the halftone screen as used for the final, printed product, on the inkjet proof. This allows users (and print-buyers) to check for moiré and other artifacts that are screening-dependent and do not show on a regular contone inkjet proof.
Proofing 'digital film' can be compared to the halftone proof from film. Agfa offers the :SherpaDot option to :ApogeeX and :ApogeeX Proofer which uses a 'Dot for Dot' screening technology for :SherpaProof systems: a halftone proof on an ink jet system. It uses the original dots of the digital film to make a colour accurate proof of the final printed sheet, Now you can evaluate the visual effect of screening on your printed result and even predict subject moiré. The Digital Film Proof option which kind of goes together with :SherpaDot also features enables progressive separations to simulate the interaction (trapping, overprinting) between individual plates.
