Printing today is challenged by rising costs and quality and productivity demands raise at the same time. Automation is a key enabler for cost reduction :Apogee InkSave is designed to preserve and enhance quality automatically with a serious financial bonus as it reduces ink costs. :Apogee InkSave is an option of the :Apogee Suite that requires no special operators knowledge nor intervention once installed.
:InkSave allows printing documents with up to 30% ink savings while enhancing the print quality of the jobs.
:InkSave offers a better color stability on the press as well as global image quality and consistency without affecting the intended output colors of the printed page. It is a feature that saves 8-30% of your ink costs . Depending on how the PDF files are produced, the amount of colour used, printing conditions and requirements.
:Apogee InkSave automatically converts colour spaces to ensure consistent colour during print,by intelligently applying Grey Component Replacement (GCR) to swap out the right amount of Cyan, Magenta and Yellow ink for Black ink. All vectorized and image content is ink optimized in the renderer of your :Apogee system, after the regular trapping and flattening. All object in borders, marks, press control bars are excluded from any conversion. Colours before and after ink optimization looks exactly the same, using a much more efficient C'M'Y'K' combination.
User Profile
For all :Apogee customers who value quality and efficiency. It is a cost effective solution for sheetfed offset, web offset, packaging and digital printers.
Key benefits
Replacing the expensive CMY ink by black (K) ink results in lower ink consumption.
When :InkSave is activated inside :Apogee, the grey tones previously composed of color elements (CMY) are modified and printed in black. They will as such print more stable and avoid color shifts. It will improve color consistency as well as stability on the printing press.
Less information in the color separations makes registration errors and rosette structures less visible.
The print quality becomes less dependent of each individual printer as the ink corrections set on the press now have a smaller impact on the printed work.
With :Apogee InkSave shorter press set-up time is required to stabilize the colour tones, and neutral grey balance in print.
Less ink is put on the paper; which results in a better ink setting, less interference between the different inks, increased printing speeds and faster drying times. Faster drying times further lead to the use of less anti-offset powder and the earlier start of post-press activities.
:Apogee InkSave is an option to Apogee and as such seamlesly integrated in the workflow. Demanding no extra investment in hardware nor operator knowledge.
