:APOGEE DigitalPrintLink establishes the integration of 3rd party digital presses with :Apogee Prepress workflow solutions.
:APOGEE DigitalPrintLink creates a unified hybrid prepress workflow solution which manages prepress workflow for traditional offset litho print production and as well automates on-demand print jobs on digital presses. Efficiency and consistency is achieved by streamlining the production through one workflow concept with the same intuitive user interface. The quality of content and color defined and controlled by the prepress department that can share the use of processing components and resources (like Normalizer, Renderer, ICC-profiles, fonts, … ) for all output devices.
The integration of the digital presses is based on the JDF/JMF (Job Definition Format/Job Messaging Format) standard. This allows automated integration in production process through exchange of standardized job tickets.The contone TIFF files sent to the digital press are rendered and imposed by prepress and accompanied by information like customer data, single/double sided, paper type/size, screening and finishing info.
:APOGEE DigitalPrintLink supports a range of digital presses . It has a JDF-link with HP Indigo presses via Digital Front End (requires HP Indigo Production Manager) and direct JDF-link on HP Indigo presses 3500(*), 5000(*) and 5500 (*requires most recent HP Indigo RIP software)
JDF-link with Canon imagePRESS (C7000VP) range of digital presses is expected end of 2008.
