From the time a product is conceived, our engineers consider ways to benefit the environment. We do this on two levels - in how we manufacture the product itself, and in the way the product is used at our customers' locations.

At every Agfa manufacturing facility in every part of the world we closely monitor the elements that can impact our environment, including water consumption. In 2007, we decreased our world wide water usage with 27% compared to 2001.

We also design our products in such a way that they require the least possible water consumption. Our flagship is our chemistry-free thermal digital printing plate :Azura. In a very short space of time, :Azura has revolutionized the global printing market and became the true standard in chemistry-free plates. Over 2500 users worldwide already know that :Azura chem-free plates save litres and litres of our most precious resource. :Azura uses Agfa Graphics' ThermofuseTM technology. After exposure, the plate is washed out and gummed with a water-based gum. No caustic developer or rinsing water is used.

At drupa, Agfa Graphics introduced a high-speed :Azura plate to match every imaging preference: both thermal and violet. Because of its high-contrast image, :Azura increases efficiency along with quality. So while you're saving a vital resource, you'll also increase the bottom line.
